I highly appreciated the way the children in this book had read other children's books, and thus were aware of the potential consequences of wishes. It didn't stop them from getting into a mess, but at least they thought about it.It did annoy me a little that there was a pattern of the girls causing a mess, and then brother Mark or kindly Mr Smith finding solutions for them.I didn't quite manage to fall in love with the story, or find the children entirely engaging, but it was an enjoyable read.
