Wimsey is side-tracked during a snowstorm, adds another talent to his repertoire, unravels most of a mystery, but can't quite solve it. Again Sayer has Wimsey realise something after ages of faffing about. Despite demonstrating that Wimsey clearly had heard about such things happening before, and knew where the death had occurred, Sayer chooses not to have him put two and two together.Other than this long stretch of not seeing the forest for the trees at the end, a reasonable mystery with rather a lot about the mathematics of English bell ringing in it - and another coded message to boot.
