Flavia de Luce is a brilliant girl devoted to studying chemistry and waging unquiet war with her two sisters. Her reaction to the discovery of a body in the garden is delighted interest, at least until it seems the death might cause her family to pay a price.The success of this story depends very much on the reader's reaction to Flavia. Some will hate her, some love her. I, unfortunately, was only mildly interested by Flavia, so while the story was quite readable, it's not a series I'll be continuing with.
